A lot of people are thinking about moving to New York because it offers so many opportunities. Before you pack your bags, know the pros and cons of living in this city.

  1. Easy access. People who are living in New York have easy access to public transportation when going to work and school. Most of the people here do not have their own cars as they can easily get to their destination either by taxi, train, bus, or even on foot. New York provides pedestrian paths that bicyclists and walkers can use to get around safely.

  2. Making contacts. New York makes it possible for every individual to meet different people on a regular basis. This is very good for business owners who are looking for potential clients and for individuals who are looking for life partners. There are also several great opportunities in New York and a lot of people find their “big breaks” here.

  3. Entertainment and relaxation. Nature lovers will love this city are there are biking routes in Central New York and there are several great resorts for people who would like to relax and unwind. New York is also world famous for its museums, baseball games, shopping, and nightlife. Indeed, people who are living here will not run out of places to go and things to do. This type of lifestyle can increase level of stress and this usually results to hostility and increased crime and violence. People who grew up in suburbs and in communities where people are extremely friendly may experience culture shock when they move to New York.

  6. Cost of living is high. A lot of people are going to New York for several reasons. Because of this, the demand for food, housing, and basic services increase every year. Food, clothing, and transportation can be insanely expensive compare when you’re living in Montana or Mississippi.
